CARRY YOUR STUFF

Because people settled in farming communities and worked together to complete daily tasks, there was more time to think, create, and invent.  A great invention from this time period was the awl.  An awl is a sharp tool used to poke holes in tough material, like leather.  Another great invention was the sewing needle which was made of bone or wood.  With these tools, people were able to poke holes in leather and stitch it together to make better shoes, clothes, and accessories.
